Therapy for Anxiety, ADHD, Trauma & Relationships
People rarely come to therapy with one thing going on.
You can be anxious, burned out at work, having relationship problems, and wondering why the same patterns keep showing up. You can have ADHD, know you have ADHD, and still have seventeen systems that somehow aren’t system-ing.
Then there’s the stuff that’s harder to name. Feeling guilty saying no. Doing well on paper and having a surprisingly bad time.
You don’t need to know exactly what to call it before you come see us.
-
Your brain is very good at finding something to worry about. A conversation from yesterday, a decision you haven’t made yet, the possibility that someone is mad at you. Sometimes it’s anxiety. Sometimes it’s a whole lot of thinking that never actually gets you anywhere.
-
You have the planner. You made the list. You set the reminder. Somehow, the thing still did not happen. ADHD can affect focus and organization, but also motivation, emotions, relationships, work, and how you’ve learned to think about yourself.
-
Not everything that still affects you feels like a capital-T Trauma. Sometimes it’s something you survived. Sometimes it’s years of being criticized, dismissed, responsible for everyone else, or learning very early which parts of yourself were easier to keep quiet.
-
Dating. Marriage. Friendships. Family. The person you cannot stop thinking about despite several compelling reasons to stop thinking about them. We work with the patterns that keep showing up in how you connect, communicate, fight, trust, and choose people.
-
Some changes are things you wanted and are still surprisingly hard. Others you absolutely did not ask for. New relationships, breakups, marriage, parenthood, career changes, loss, family changes, and the weird identity shift that can come with any of them.
Your therapist should actually feel like someone you can talk to.
You’re going to talk about your family, your relationships, the stuff you overthink, and probably a few things you haven’t said out loud before. So who you’re talking to matters.
Our therapists are warm, curious, and actually in the room with you. We’ll ask questions, notice patterns, remember the little things, and laugh with you when something is genuinely funny.
HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOU
Therapy for Adults, Couples & Teens in Illinois
Therapy looks a little different depending on who’s sitting down with us. So does what you actually want help with.
Adults
You can have your life pretty together and still be having a hard time. Anxiety, ADHD, relationships, burnout, grief, perfectionism, family stuff, or just realizing something needs to change.
Couples
You’ve talked about it. You’ve argued about it. You may have even agreed on what needs to change. And somehow, here you are having the same conversation again.
Teens
School, friends, family, figuring yourself out, and a brain that has a LOT to say about all of it. We work with anxiety, ADHD, depression, school stress, and relationships.
ABOUT SOHAIL COUNSELING & CARE
I wanted therapy to feel more human.
I started SCC because I wanted to build an Illinois therapy practice I’d feel good sending someone I love to, and one where therapists were treated like people, too.
That meant good therapists with different backgrounds and perspectives, and a team that understands culture, identity, relationships, and what’s happening in the world all matter in therapy.
We’re different therapists on purpose. The way we care for people is the part we share.
